1976-1980 Maintenance Supervisor
Weyerhaeuser Company, Aberdeen, WA
Schedule and supervise work of up to 15 union employees
for weekend work and mid week work activity. Most of the work activity
involved making improvements to a Chip N Saw type small log sawmill. The
primary goal was to keep maintenance downtime to a minimum. Through analysis
of the downtime and the modifications made to plant conveyors, and machinery
the mechanical downtime was reduced from 30% to 5%. Especially challenging
since the mill ran 24 hours a day and was idle only on weekends and the
sawmill environment requires equipment which will stand up to heavy loads.
