Opening for Packaging Engineer



Job requirements:

  • B.S. Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Nuclear or Chemical Engineering (required) / Masters Degree is preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training Certificate (required)
  • Minimum 4 years professional work experience or 2 years with a Masters Degree (required).
  • Analysis experience shall include fundamental calculations, both manual and FEA, with some structural and thermal involvement.
  • Applicant should be interested in growing into the position of packaging engineer of nuclear packaging, which would eventually lead to a project engineer or project manager position in nuclear packaging. This position would require travel, approximately 10%.
  • The packaging engineer position shall encompass the design, analysis, specification, and layout of nuclear materials shipping packages:
    • Work with customers and government regulators are required.
    • Ability to direct a team of engineers, designers and drafters is required.
    • Will have to produce formal calculations and write performance specifications, reports, and manuals.
    • Familiarity with various materials and their uses and problems.
    • Manage the fabrication of capital equipment in shop floor environments. This may involve dealing with fabrication contracts and resolving welding, machining, tolerancing and material problems.
    • Familiarity with welding and inspection standards.
    • Work with codes, national standards and federal regulations.
